Hanover — Hanover High sophomore Leila Trummel capped a strong season on the trails as the only Upper Valley athlete to make a New Hampshire Cross Country Coaches Association all-state team.

Trummel was among 10 girls chosen for the Division II team on Wednesday. One of the Marauders’ top runners all season, Trummel was a team-best 11th at the NHIAA Division II state meet last month in Manchester, running 19 minutes, 27.0 seconds over five kilometers. She followed that up with a time of 18:44.6 a week later in Nashua at the NHIAA Meet of Champions, and Trummel finished her campaign by placing 44th out of 261 runners at the New England Championships in Rhode Island last weekend.

The NHCCCA chose 10-member male and female teams for each of the state’s three divisions.

Athletes will be honored at a Dec. 4 banquet in which the runner, team and coach of the year will be announced.
